EU-Commissioner Dalli visits Playmobil Malta Ltd

Today EU-Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, Mr. John Dalli, visited the Playmobil production facilities in Ħal Far, Malta, the Commissioner’s home country. His visit follows an invitation by the pan-European trade association PlasticsEurope and global toymaker Playmobil.

The Playmobil plant visit provided the Commissioner with direct insights into the plastics industry. Commissioner Dalli was shown how plastic materials are processed and converted within the production value chain, and how health and safety issues are treated at Playmobil Malta’s facility. For Playmobil, as well as for plastic manufacturers in general, product safety and efficient regulation in this area is of primary importance.

With its nearly 1,000 employees, Playmobil Malta Ltd., being one of the major employers on the island manufactures all the Playmobil figures (approximately 100,000,000 figures per year), which are included in the world-renowned Playmobil play sets.
