PlasticsEurope, the pan-European trade association representing European plastics manufacturers, has announced the appointment of Hanane Taidi as Director of Communications for Europe.

The 10th edition of IdentiPlast 2012, held in Warsaw (Poland) on 6-7 November 2012, brought together some 170 European experts on plastics waste management. Europe’s leading event on plastics waste management, focused on the ambitious goal of zero plastics to landfill by 2020.

The plastics industry has set itself the challenging goal of reaching zero plastics going to landfill by 2020. However, the efforts of all stakeholders towards turning waste into a valuable resource - be it through recycling or energy recovery - need to be increased.

“Zero plastics to landfill by 2020 – how to reach the goal”: This is the theme of the 10th edition of IdentiPlast, Europe’s leading event on plastics waste management. This year’s conference will take place in Warsaw/Poland on 6 and 7 November.

With more than 200 participants gathering in Wiesbaden, Germany, this year’s summit of the European plastics industry PolyTalk was a major success. Under the topic “Plastics – An Intriguing Love Story?” the two-day conference brought together representatives from industry, politics, science, media and the youth.

Today EU-Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, Mr. John Dalli, visited the Playmobil production facilities in Ħal Far, Malta, the Commissioner’s home country.
