Aiming to promote STEM education, PlasticsEurope hosted a panel debate “Education Now, Innovation Tomorrow” during the 8th European Innovation Summit (EIS), organised by the Knowledge4Innovation platform (K4I).

From over 500 students who took part in the 2016 European Youth Debating Competition (EYDC), ten students have been selected as the winners of the competition.

On 29 September, PlasticsEurope, in partnership with viEUws, participated in a TV live panel debate on the latest developments on the circular economy package. The panel debate, streamed from the TV Studio of the European Parliament, was moderated by Sonja van Renssen, environmental journalist from the Brussels scene.

The youth debate in Poland organized on 31 May in the Business School of Warsaw Technical University; it was the fifth of 9 planned events of the European Youth Debating Competitions, organised by EPCA (the European Petrochemical Association) and PlasticsEurope.

Friday, 27 May, over 60 Italian students from different schools gathered for the Italian final of the European Youth Debating Competition, during which they debated on the future of the petrochemical and plastics industry, but also on STEM education, sustainability as key elements of Europe’s continued competitiveness. Federchimica, the Italian Federation of the chemical industry, welcomed and supported the debate, held in Milano.

For the third time, PlasticsEurope Brussels team participated in the Let's Clean Up Europe (LCUE) Campaign, and organised a clean-up activity in the neighbourhood of its offices. The official 2016 LCUE campaign took place on 6-7-8 May but participants were free to organise their actions on other dates.
