Javier Constante and Daniele Ferrari appointed Vice-Presidents of PlasticsEurope

PlasticsEurope - the pan-European association representing European plastics manufacturers - is announcing the appointment of Javier Constante and Daniele Ferrari as Vice-Presidents of PlasticsEurope.

"We are delighted that both have accepted their appointments as new Vice-Presidents of PlasticsEurope. Their experience and long-term commitments are an important asset for all members and essential to ensure a strong alignment”, said Patrick Thomas, President of PlasticsEurope and CEO of Covestro.  

Javier Constante is the EMEA Commercial Vice President for the Packaging and Specialty Plastics Business of The Dow Chemical Company. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Equate/ TKOC and EMC Equate Marketing Company and is a member of the PlasticsEurope Steering Board. "I am very honoured. PlasticsEurope has more than ever a crucial role to play in helping the plastics industry to respond to today’s challenging societal issues” said Constante.  

Mr Constante joined Dow in 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and worked in various leadership positions across Sales and Marketing serving a variety of businesses in Latin America and Europe. Central to Constante’s policy is collaborating with all value chain partners and develop better and more sustainable packaging.  

"I am very excited to take this new responsibility and further develop the association on the business challenges we have ahead, within a common vision” said Daniele Ferrari, CEO of Versalis and Chairman of Matrìca, a joint venture between Novamont and Versalis for green chemistry. Mr Ferrari is also President of PlasticsEurope Italy, Vice-President of Federchimica and Board Member of Cefic.  

With over 25 years of experience in the chemical industry, Mr Ferrari has built a reputable career in a variety of businesses, holding several positions within Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) Intermediates, Fluorocarbons in UK and Polyurethanes in Brussels. He also served in the capacity of Managing Director of Huntsman Surface Science-Italy and President of Huntsman Performance Products in Houston, Texas. Under his leadership, in 2012, Versalis has started a strategic move through the repositioning of its asset base, the portfolio refocusing on higher value-added products and a strengthened exposure to global markets.
