PlasticsEurope supporting the "Let's Clean Up Europe!" campaign

PlasticsEurope welcomes "Let's Clean Up Europe!", the campaign against littering happening on 10 May 2014 and around. The event was developed in the scope of the "European Week for Waste Reduction” (EWWR), involving ACR+, AICA, ARC, IBGE-BIM and OHÜ, with the support of the European Commissioner for the Environment, Janez Potočnik.

The objective of this initiative is to bring various local clean-up actions together to have a common global clean-up event held on the same day - Saturday, 10 May – all over the European Union, and which involves/reaches as many citizens as possible.

PlasticsEurope in addition to supporting the initiative with its own actions  also co-signed a joint letter sent by Municipal Waste Europe (MWE) to its members informing them about the campaign and inviting them to participate in this initiative.

PlasticsEurope encouraged its member companies to also take action through the organisation of clean-up events around their offices/sites, in cooperation with their local communities.  Some of them reacted positively to this call.

It is worth mentioning that PlasticsEurope Brussels staff will also participate in a symbolic waste busting action on Friday, 16 May in the afternoon.
