Goodbye annoying workplace fluorescent light-bulb buzz!

Plastic polymers enable development of a silent, flicker-free, shatterproof, long-lasting alternative for large-scale lighting, ready for launch this year.

A nano-engineered polymer matrix, based on field-induced polymer electroluminescent (FIPEL) technology, converts electrical charge into soft, white light allowing researchers to create an entirely new light bulb that can replace current office lighting, is twice as efficient as CFLs and on par with LEDs.
