FuturEnergia: back to school!

On 17 February 2011, Jean-Pierre De Grève - PlasticsEurope- and Richard Thommeret -Solvay-, acted as FuturEnergia ambassadors on behalf of PlasticsEurope and European School net in a tone-setting event on energy efficiency that took place at the European School Brussels III.

Around 80 students and their teachers came to listen to the presentations given by Mr De Grève on the important role of plastics in energy efficiency, energy saving and climate protection. Mr Thommeret illustrated further such contribution by presenting the Solar Impulse project of which Solvay is an official partner and which ambitiion it is to contribute in the world of exploration and innovation to the cause of renewable energies and to demonstrate the importance of the new technologies in sustainable development (www.solarimpulse.com).

The students were extremely interested and the presenters were pleasantly surprised as they had to keep up with a ceaseless flow of questions during the 30 minutes Q&A session which followed the presentations.

The ambition of European SchoolNet and PlasticsEurope is to organise similar visits in other European countries, so a call for candidates amongst member companies is open!
