EU Ban on Bisphenol A in Baby Bottles

29 January 2011, PlasticsEurope has taken note of the decision of the European Commission to ban Bisphenol A based polycarbonate baby bottles. PlasticsEurope is concerned about the motivation of such decision that is not backed by any scientific evidence, and contradictory to the recent recommendation of EFSA (European Food Safety Agency). As such, PlasticsEurope strongly supports and advocates for a fact and sound science risk assessment based decision making process, in particular when it comes to product safety, in the best interest of the consumer, of the European industry and of society as a whole.
