Environmental benefits of plastic packaging

We are pleased to announce a collaboration between PlasticsEurope and the leading packaging media PackagingEurope.com to publish an extended article about the environmental benefits of plastic packaging. The article will examine in detail the findings of the recently published Denkstatt study, which shows that if heavier materials were used in packaging, 27 million more tonnes of oil had to be consumed, and incorporates an interview with PlasticsEurope’s Michel Loubry.

The article will be form a major part of the a special edition of Packaging Europe focusing on the plastic packaging industry, and will be published both in Packaging Europe’s electronic magazine and on its homepage. PlasticsEurope members are invited to contribute their own perspectives and insights into the innovations, trends and challenges facing the industry.
