Plastics too valuable to be thrown away

This statement is not only a well-established fact, but is also the title of the new easy-to-read brochure on plastics waste management PlasticsEurope has published.

End-of-life plastics, if managed properly, are a valuable source of either material or energy. The "Plastics too valuable to be thrown away" brochure gives an explanatory overview on resources management of the product's life cycle as well as the different available routes to manage properly plastics waste in order to recuperate the material properties or the energy stored in them. These are: Mechanical Recycling, Feedstock Recycling and Energy Recovery.

The brochure comes with a showcase factsheet on a feedstock technology that is currently working at an industrial scale in the blast furnace at voestalpine in Linz/Austria (VoestAlpine blast furnace plant).
