Part 1:
Marine litter: panel debate

An expert discussion panel on marine litter, an issue that is emerging as one of the most significant sustainable challenges our society needs to deal with.

The panel gathered leading authorities in the field of marine debris:
Dr. Jan Andries van Franeker, Dr François Galgani Dr Edward Kosior, Professor Richard Thompson and Huub Meessen as spokeperson for the plastics industry.

The discussion was moderated by TV journalist Cathy Smith and took place on the afternoon of Thursday 20 May 2010.

Part 2: Do Climate Change Solutions and Innovation Hold the Key to Economic Recovery?

An open discussion forum on how innovations can help spur economic recovery. Three experts spoke: Andrew Monro, KPMG, on the current economic situation; Sébastien Delpont, BeCitizen on most needed new business models; and Gernot Klotz, SUSCHEM on innovation trends and research.
This debate was moderated by independent journalist Willy De Backer and took place on the afternoon of Thursday 20 May 2010.
